DAY 1: Arrival CAIRO – Egypt

DAY 2: CAIRO/ASWAN (1B, 1D)
starting the tour by visiting the pyramids area at the Giza Plateau, Then Lunch and free time for shopping, after Lunch, tour to the Egyptian museum.
In the evening, board an overnight sleeper train to Aswan.

Enjoy a comfortable twin-share compartment with bunk beds and lockable doors. The beds convert into seats when not in use and luggage is stored under the bottom bunk. Bedding is provided and there is a small wash basin with soap and a towel as well. Shared toilet facilities are at the end of each carriage. A simple “airline style” dinner is included. Non-alcoholic drinks are available to purchase and there is a bar car for socializing.

DAY 3: ASWAN (1B, 1D)
Enjoy some free time in the morning to browse the souk or walk along the Nile.
Later, board a felucca (boat) to reach Elephantine Island and visit a Nubian village. Walk around the small community then enjoy a delicious traditional dinner in a local home.

DAY 4: ASWAN (1B)
One of the most fascinating sights in the area is the Temple of Abu Simbel. Later, optional for a half-day tour to visit the Unfinished Obelisk, High Dam, and Philae Temple. Visit the modern Nubian Museum to learn more about the local people and culture.
DAY 5: ASWAN/KOM OMBO (1B, 1L, 1D)
Board the felucca (traditional boat) and spend the rest of the day out on the river and a night under the stars.

DAY 6: KOM OMBO/LUXOR (1B)
Enjoy a guided tour to Kom Ombo Temple before driving to Luxor. in route to Luxor, visit the temple of Edfu.

DAY 7: LUXOR/CAIRO (1B, 1L, 1D)
Cross to the West Bank and travel by donkey. Visit the massive 18m (59ft)-high Colossi of Memnon, which is all that remains of an ancient temple. Descend down the narrow corridors and check out the tombs of the pharaohs at the Valley of the Kings. The Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut literally seems to rise out of the surrounding limestone outcrops.
Enjoy free time to explore Luxor; Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple are both well worth a visit. Learn about the ancient art of embalming at world’s only Mummification Museum and the small, but beautifully presented, Luxor Museum

DAY 8: CAIRO (1B)
Enjoy a guided tour of Cairo, then visit Khan el-Khalili Bazaar.

Travel to Nuweiba.

DAY 11: NUWEIBA/AQABA (1B)
Spend the morning at the beach before boarding the ferry to Jordan.

The ferry is quite comfortable, and has air conditioning and airline-style seats. The journey itself should take only 1.5 hrs, but the ferry is often delayed and wait times can be up to 3-4 hrs.

DAY 12: AQABA/WADI RUM (1B, 1D)
Spend the morning in Aqaba before setting off for Wadi Rum, a vast, silent landscape of ancient riverbeds and the largest and most magnificent of Jordan’s desert landscapes. Head deep into the desert by 4×4, stopping at famous landmarks along the way.
Arrive at the tented camp in time for a traditional meal. Learn more about this ancient culture.
A local guide will take us for a 2 hr night hike in the desert to see the stars and look for desert wildlife. Spend the evening sitting around the fire under the stars, listening to stories from our Bedouin hosts.

DAY 13: WADI RUM (1B)
Pack up from the Bedouin camp and head for Wadi Musa, home to the famous city of Petra. En route, visit Siq al-Barid, known as Little Petra.
Upon arrival, spend time walking in the small city or seeking out one of the many cafés playing Indiana Jones on loop.

DAY 14: W?D? M?S? (1B)
Walk through the narrow canyon that forms the dramatic entrance to the city (the Siq), around the final corner, and lay eyes on the dramatic façade of the Treasury building. Learn a brief history of the city and walk approximately 25km (15.5 mi) to cover the entire site. Return to Wadi Musa in the late afternoon, or continue exploring on your own.

Depart early for the first stop, Shobak Castle. Continue on to explore Karak Castle, built during the Crusades.
Later, visit Mt Nebo. Learn the ancient history of this spot and check out the incredible views.
Continue on to Madaba to see the famous Byzantine mosaics, dating back to the 6th century.
